CanStruction Virtual Orlando 2020

This year may be a little different, but we won’t let a pandemic stop us from taking on the issue of hunger in our community. Plus, we’re all looking for safe and creative new ways to collaborate and have a little fun.

This year’s event will take place virtually, but what does that mean? It means you get to show off your CAD or REVIT skills and maybe your team CAN even get a little extra creative! We still ask that you source cans and do the part of the project that makes it so unique. However, instead of building your design in real life, this year, your team will use technology to create and display your structure.

Benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.

Your impact of each $1 = 4 meals. Your gift will be put to use immediately to provide food for kids, families and seniors in Central Florida.

The process will be the same as a normal construction minus the can purchasing and actual build. Each team will develop a design statement and sculpture based on the "TAKE-OUT" theme. We will even continue the signage (through digital only). Since virtual, we are not putting restrictions on the sculpture size, but also note that we will not be able to participate in Canstruction national.

Schedule:

August 22: Kickoff & Registration

November 2: Details, Design Statement & Sketch Due

November 9: Signage & Can Count Due

November 16: Virtual Canstruction Upload- Jury Meets

November 18: Virtual Awards Celebration
