Canstruction Orlando 2021

Our theme this year is "WHATEVER". We CAN do WHATEVER it takes to solve food insecurity!

As with all our themes, it is open to interpretation. The same basic Canstruction Orlando rules apply (8'-0" cube size, human food only in original packaging, and 1/4" plywood max), but we won't be checking up on your actual sculptures. Ensuring that the food containers aren't damaged, and the original labels are intact is the most important rule.


Benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.

Your impact of each $1 = 4 meals. Your gift will be put to use immediately to provide food for kids, families and seniors in Central Florida.

Dear Orlando Community:

We've been fortunate to have been able to support Second Harvest Food Bank in the important work they do for our Central Florida community for the past ** years via Canstruction Orlando. The amazing creativity and generosity of our A/E/C community has fueled this and now as we struggled through not having a physical event in 2020, we find ourselves in need of additional help to coordinate future events.

Please reach out to patrick_white@rlfae.com if you or someone from your team would be interested in helping in any capacity (big or small).

Each team will post pictures of their sculpture to Canstruction Orlando's Facebook page. We will utilize Facebook to determine winners and hand out virtual awards.

Because this will not be an official Canstruction event, we will not pay our fee to Canstruction national, and we will also not ask for team entry fees either. Note that this means that the Canstruction logo cannot be used in any of your marketing.

Schedule:

September 1: Submit intent to build with company name and email logo to patrick_white@rlfae.com

September 27: Design statement and Can count

October 10: Build your can structure in your office

October 11: Post pictures of your sculpture to Canstruction Orlando's Facebook page along with a sculpture title, your design statement, and Can totals.

October 17: Virtual Awards will be announced on our Facebook page

October 24: Decanstruct your structure and deliver it to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida
